Advertising Sales Manager
We’re on the hunt for a proactive, self-starting and friendly Advertising Sales Manager to join the team on a freelance basis to work on selling advertising space for our magazine (North Four). The role suits someone looking to return to work, work part time or add North Four magazine to a portfolio of commitments.
We’re looking for someone who is friendly, outgoing and just generally a good egg! Experience in sales is great but not a deal breaker. Whilst you will be expected to hit realistic monthly and quarterly targets, it’s equally important to us that you’re approachable, confident and a nice person. You will be an ambassador of our parent company (The Barefaced Movement) and of North Four, so we’re looking for someone who is encouraging, earnest and likeable, rather than super pushy.
Currently, only available online North Four magazine is growing rapidly and we’re now in the process of putting together our very first high-quality design-led print edition. You will, therefore, be selling advertising space and partnerships for both our digital site and print editions. North Four focuses on lifestyle, cultural and creative news across the four Inner North London boroughs of Islington, Camden, Haringey and Hackney.
As our new Advertising Sales Manager we can offer you flexibility and the chance to work with a friendly team in a happy environment. You can opt to work from home or from our Finsbury Park studios, or a bit of both – the choice is yours. We’d like to get to know you though so a bit of time spent with us in the studios is preferable.
This is a commission only role, with a rate of 30 – 40% (negotiable) awarded to you for each sale completed.
Please send your CV and one paragraph on why you think you’d absolutely ace it as our Advertising Sales Manager to email@example.com
Application deadline is 6pm on Monday 27th March 2017.
Things we at North Four enjoy: long walks in the park, chats over coffee, dogs wearing jackets and getting emails from talented contributors.
We’re looking for new and experienced writers. You must be North London based or able to get to North London easily. We’re also keen to hear from designers, illustrators, artists and photographers who would like to showcase their work or get involved with the magazine.
When contacting us please include:
1. A link to your portfolio or examples of your work
2. Any editorial ideas you would like to pitch
3. What you prefer covering (e.g. food reviews, events, theatre)
If you are interested in becoming an editorial or artistic contributor, or you would like your work featured in North Four please send an email with the subject line ‘CONTRIBUTOR’ to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are a freelance illustrator, artist or photographer looking to get involved with North Four or The Barefaced Movement please send an email with the subject line ‘FREELANCER’ to email@example.com
Our parent company The Barefaced Movement (a design and creative communications agency) are searching for the world’s best Intern. You will be based at our Finsbury Park studio and we’re looking for someone to work 1 day per week for at least 3 months. This is a paid internship at a rate of £57 per day on a freelance contract.
We’re not going to lie, this isn’t a glamorous job. It will involve doing boring things like filing receipts and post office runs. In fact, here’s a list of some of the boring things you’ll be doing:
– Database entry
– Filing and recording expense receipts
– Office filing
– Supermarket and post office runs
– Tidying up the office
– Stationary orders
– Securing quotes
– Proof reading
Thrilling stuff right? That’s why we’re looking for someone with a great attitude, who is also incredibly organised, smart, efficient and friendly. If you have experience in Excel, Google Drive or database entry that’s a bonus, but if you’re a quick learner that’s equally great. Mostly you should be a kind person and a hard grafter, who isn’t afraid to get your hands dirty or feel above doing admin/boring tasks. If you’re willing to get stuck in and you take pride in your work you’re our perfect Intern!
Our studios offer a friendly, relaxed environment with genuinely nice people. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about design/marketing/magazines if you so desire.
If you think you’re made of the right stuff please send your CV and a short overview (preferably in the form of a haiku, sonnet or meme) describing why you’re perfect for the job to: firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line ‘INTERN’.
Application deadline: 6pm Friday 31st March 2017
